Twenty seven years of gentle dentistry, now in Ringwood
George Alvarez founded Gumdent after nearly three decades of practice across the Philippines, New Zealand and Australia. The idea was simple. Build the kind of clinic he would send his own family to, then run it that way without compromise.
In practice that means booking realistic appointment times rather than stacking the day, explaining what we are doing before we do it, and telling patients honestly when something can safely be watched rather than treated.

Between them our clinicians cover general and children’s dentistry, root canal therapy, complex wisdom teeth, cosmetic work and full implant rehabilitation. Very little needs to be referred elsewhere.

George founded Gumdent to build the kind of clinic he would send his own family to. Across 27 years of practice in the Philippines, New Zealand and Australia he has focused on gentle general dentistry, children’s care, fillings and gum treatment. Patients regularly describe his chairside manner as calm, unhurried and genuinely reassuring.

Dr Jennifer graduated from the University of Queensland in 1992 and brings more than three decades of clinical experience to the practice. She handles the cases other clinics refer on, particularly root canal therapy and complex wisdom tooth removal, and is known for explaining exactly what is happening at every step.

Cathy has spent 25 years caring for families across the Philippines, New Zealand and Australia. She looks after checkups, cleans, mouthguards and children’s appointments, and has a light touch that makes nervous young patients settle quickly.

Dr Poli looks after the practice’s surgical and implant work, including guided bone regeneration, sinus floor elevation, soft tissue grafting and full arch rehabilitation. He plans every case thoroughly so patients know the plan, the timeline and the outcome before anything begins.
